The Importance Of Driving Traffic

Once you have a fully functional lead generating system in place that is set up to collect names and email addresses, it's time to start sending visitors to that system. This is also called 'driving traffic'. Traffic is one (if not THE) of the most important pieces of your online business.
Think of it like this... If you have the best store in the world, with the best products in the world, and the friendliest workers in the world, but no one ever visits your store, then you are not going to be in business for long. The same goes for the online world. You have to be able to put your site in front of as many targeted people as possible.
There are many ways to drive traffic on the internet, and I'm not going to go over all of them in this article, but I will cover a few ways that I drive traffic to my sites everyday.
It is important to know that there are 2 kinds of traffic. Free and Paid. Free traffic is much slower, and usually (not always) less quality traffic, but either way, free is free. Paid traffic is typically higher quality and you can get much more of it much faster simply by paying for it.
A few examples of free traffic include articles marketing, forum marketing, social media marketing, video marketing, and blogging. Like I mentioned earlier, these all can be time consuming and slower to get the traffic, but if done properly (and consistently) will drive all the free traffic you will ever need.
A few examples of paid traffic are PPC (pay per click), co-registrations, and solo ads. These are much faster ways of getting traffic, but can get expensive (and not produce any results) if you don't know what you are doing.
The point of this article is not to get into the 'how-tos' of driving traffic... I have other trainings about that. This article is to simply stress the importance of learning how to drive traffic to your lead generating system; because the best system in the world does no good if nobody is being put into it. Think of the nicest hotel you have ever stayed in... Now think about what keeps that hotel in business. The PEOPLE do. No People = no money. In the online world, no website visitors = no money.
The bottom line is that it doesn't matter how you get your traffic, or even where you get your traffic, as long as you get it. Many people fail to realize that making money online really boils down to two things... Traffic and Conversion. They are both equally as important, and not to be overlooked.
